228事件剛滿70周年，近期也再度掀起對於轉型正義的討論。中正紀念堂轉型議題，景觀學會副理事長許晉誌與劉世魚口鞋偉表示，中正紀念堂銅像有巨大地基而造成移除困難，可參考東京的巨型滯洪池概念，地面維持現有場景，地下開挖成儲水庫，銅像可透過儀式性活動下沉到池中，「讓大自然消滅他」。

文化部日前啟動中正紀念堂轉型正義的第一步「去威權化」，但關於中正紀念堂的整體轉型，尚無具體提案。姚文智舉辦「中山南廿一號暨廣場都市再生的未來」公聽會，邀請各界專家學者與政府代表參與討論。

姚文智主張，中正紀念堂可改造為「首都文化園區」，成為展演中原文化的故宮二館，解決故宮擁擠問題；而總統府可轉型成台灣博物館。

許晉誌與劉世偉則表示，中正紀念堂是野百合運動的基地，是台灣民主政治記憶重要的地景之一，而銅像有巨大地基而造成移除困難，他認為可參考東京的巨型滯洪池概念，地面維持現有場景，地下一層作為活動空間，地下二層則大規模開挖，變成儲水庫，銅像可透過儀式性活動下沉到池中，「讓大自然消滅他」。
